Edited

Original
Exposure triangle
  • Shutter Speed- 1/10
  • FNumber- 4.2
  • ISO- 1600

In this assignment I did still or product.  I took a couple pictures of fire with a candle, and a match.  I also used my brothers indoor soccer shoes and a soccer ball with a light reflecting of a wall.  My other pictures were of playing cards laying on a black cloth.
This assignment went okay, these were not my greatest pictures but the candlelight with the book looks good.  I had trouble with trying to focus on the playing cards with y dads camera.

Photo Shop tutorial assignment

http://photoshoptutorials.ws/photoshop-tutorials/photoshop-video-tutorials/photoshop-video-tutorial-how-to-create-see-through-ghost-photos.html

I found a tutorial for photo shop that made people in a picture into ghost looking objects.  This didn't go as well as in the video but it didn't go bad.  I had to mess around with different layers and pasity and fill effects.

Dictionary Assignment

In this assignment we had to take a word from the dictionary and put it on a canvas.  The we had to take pictures from the internet and put them on the canvas.  We also had to put the definition to the word.

I had a lot of fun in this assignment.  I did well with softening the corners and edges of the pictures.  The pictures went well together.

Pun Assignment

In this assignment we had to take a play on words or a saying and put that word/saying into pictures.  Pictures are said to be worth a 1000 words.

I learned about how to cut pictures from the internet and put them on layers over each other.

Photo Assignment 6: Architecture

Exposure Triangle:
  • FNumber- 2.8
  • Shutter Speed- 1/50
  • ISO- 640

In this assignment I did architecture.  I go to the Church of St. Andrews so I went and took pictures of the church.  It was very dark so I had to use the flash.  Many of my photos had a lot of digital noise because it was so dark. The church had some great architecture.

In this assignment I learned that when it is fairly dark, digital noise is prevalent. This assignment went alright.  This is not one of my best pictures but it is no bad.

Photo Assignment 5: Light Painting

Exposure Triangle
  • ISO- 100
  • FNumber- 4.2
  • Shutter Speed- 30 seconds

In this assignment I did light painting.  I went down to my basement and put my camera on a tripod. Then I had my brother stand in front as I did different drawings around him.  Then I went outside and used a sparkler and a flashlight and did different stuff.

Unfortunately this assignment would have been so much better if I hadn't deleted all the pictures from outside.  All my great pictures of light painting are gone and now I'm stuck with these crap pictures.

Portrait Assignment

In this assignment we had to take two differnet types of portraits.   One was a studio portrait which is a set up number of lights.  This is more of a proffesional type of picture.  the other one is a bounce light portrait.  This is using the sun light and a glossy bounce card.

The studio portrait went well , but the bounce light didn't seem to work very well.

Photo Assignment 4: Black and White

Exposure Triangle
  • FNumber- 8
  • Shutter Speed- 1/200
  • ISO- 200

I didn't have much time this weekend so I did the black and white assignment.  I took many of my pictures and turned them into black and white with photo shop.  I didn't realize how many different settings there are for black and white.

This assignment went okay.  Because I didn't have much time I couldn't take any quality pictures.  Luckily photo shop is awesome.

Context Assignment

In this assignment we had to take a picture of the school and then we had take it and put it into photo shop.  In photo shop we had to put pictures from the internet into our picture of the school.  We were advised to have a specific theme in our picture.

This assignment went really well.  I understand photo shop a lot and had to help many of my classmates.  Using the selection tool and the clone stamp helped a lot.

Panoramic Photo's

In this assignment we had to go around and outside of the school and take panoramic pictures.  Panoramic pictures are a series of pictures where you pan across taking a picture overlapping the previous picture 1/3 length.  Then we put it into photo shop and it fitted all the edges and corners together to make a panoramic picture.

I learned in this assignment to take panoramic pictures and how to take good pictures so the focus was the same on all of the pictures.  As you pan across the landscape you must keep the camera still with a tripod.

Photo Assignment 3: Nature

Exposure Triangle:
  • Shutter Speed - 1/499
  • F-Number - 8
  • ISO - 200

In this assignment I took pictures of nature.  Many pictures of the clouds were taken in the morning right as the sun was coming up.  Many of the flowers were dying so it took time to get good pictures of them.
This assignment went very well. Mos of my pictures were very clear and the color popped out.  Other ones were good when the hornet was sitting on the flower.  For this assignment I used the macro setting a lot but did not zoom all the way in.

Photo Assignment 2: Motion

Exposure Triangle:

  • FNumber- 5
  • ISO- 100
  • Shutter Speed- 1/125

In this assignment I had to take pictures of motion.  I took my dads camera to my could be last soccer practice and took some action shots of my teammates.  Many of the pictures are of people shooting or crossing the ball into the box.

This assignment went good.  The lighting want the best but photo shop helped that.  I was standing behind the goal most of the time to take these pictures.  Overall the motion blur was good.

Photo Assignment 1: Animal

Image Triangle:
  • Shutter Speed - 1/100
  • ISO - 100
  • F-Number - 5.6
In this assignment I had to take a picture of animals for this assignment.  Instead of just taking a picture of my dog sleeping I had her sprint around my yard.  She does this all the time and even does a little hop/skip while she runs.

This assignment went okay.  I couldn't get the most clear picture ever.  The sunlight was perfect though with the setting sun in the right side of my picture. Otherwise the small blurriness my pictures were great.

Car Retouch

Before

After
In this assignment we learned our way around Photo Shop using many of the tools we will be using to touch up our photos.  The assignment was to take a photo from a car show and make our picture look like the retouch-up photo.  We first had to crop the picture to cut out some of the background.  Then we had to change the color f the car to match the demo photo as best as we can.  Then we used the stamp tool to touch up the light reflections on the cars hood and make it look like they weren't there.  The we used the selection tool to select the outline of the car then we painted the background pitch black to make the guys face disappear.  Using the selection tool again we tinted the window to make it look a little darker.  I learned a lot about photo shop and touching up photos.

Motion Demo

We went outside and took pictures of Mr. O'Donnell ride his motorcycle up and down the street as we took pictures of him. I learned all about how the shutter speed can change the motion blur of a picture.  The faster the shutter speed the sharper the picture or object will be.  As the shutter is open for a longer period of time the more motion blur there will be.

Next week's Photo

For next weeks assignment I am going to take the animal picture.  I will try and take a picture of my dog as she sprints and frolics around my back yard.  As she jumps getting her in mid air could also show so motion.  I could also have a lot of opportunities because I'm going to my cousins house and they have tons of pets along with a few dogs and a cat.

These pictures inspire me because I love animals so I'm hoping that I can get a good picture of my dog this weekend.

PhotoShop #1 Pop Art

In this assignment we were given several directions to play around with photo shop.  We started out taking a picture of ourselves with photobooth, then we dragged that picture into Photo Shop.  Then we cropped our picture and made a canvas.  We then pasted four photos in each of the four corners. Then we changed the saturation, hue, and the lightness changing the color of each of the four photos.

    I learned how to follow directions closely and how to work Photo Shop.  The hue and saturation don't do much unless the lightness is up.  Along with that I learned how to post just one picture onto my blog.

Compostion Assignment

We had to read about different parts of composition and take pictures related to each of the components of composition.  Then we had to upload the pictures to PhotoShop and make a composition album.  Then we have to make our first blog on our 11 pictures of Composition.

Rule of Thirds = Spider in Web
Pattern = Locker's
Symmetry = Brick Wall
Texture = Carpet
Depth of Field = Close up tree
Lines = Reflection of Glass
Framing = Swing Set
Perspectives = Basketball hoop
Space = Rose
Balance = Tree and Shadow
Color = Flower in garden

I learned all about the composition rules in photography.  The different apertures and shutter speed deeply affect the quality of a picture.  Also just taking multiple photos of the same thing but different perspectives will make a great picture.
